Possibly the most recognizable face in the catwalk over the past twenty years, and certainly the highest paid model right now (since possibly Cindy Crawford), the possibility to see Gisele Bundchen retire from the catwalk has broken many hearts over the past few days.
Before rumors of Gisele Bundchen's retirement started popping out, the Brazilian supermodel took on her latest fashion campaign: she's the newest face of the classic perfume Chanel no. 5, which has in the past been represented by Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and even Brad Pitt.
According to The Inquisitr, Gisele Bundchen's retirement is practically official right now, though the supermodel has made no official announcements. Although she has ranked the highest in the list of biggest earners in the modeling industry for the past 8 years, she might be stepping off the runway now after 20 years in the business.
Besides her famous face, Bundchen is notorious for her personal life: for years, she was in an on-and-off again relationship with Oscar-nominated actor Leonardo Di Caprio, until finally marrying New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in 2006, with whom she has two children.
The Daily Telegraph reports that Gisele Bundchen will retire after fulfilling her commitment to the Sao Paulo Fashion Week in her native Brazil, where fans will be seeing her stride through the cat walk for the last time ever.
Although Gisele Bundchen's to retire from the catwalk, she'll apparently continue working in different photo shoots and campaigns of all sorts (above all, fashion), so she'll still be working as a model.
However, this would mean Bundchen would never be one of the Victoria's Secret Angels again.
As Fox News reports, Gisele is still under contract with Chanel and Under Armour, so, at least for a while, she'll still be working in front of cameras.
In the meantime, The Boston Herald reports that her husband Tom Brady might be heading off to Hollywood.
In any case, fans are currently waiting for confirmation on whether Gisele Bundchen's to retire in the coming months.
