As Lindsay Lohan before her, the "Camp Rock" star is one of different Disney child stars that later grew up to have issues, but Demi Lovato's Instagram is a witness that the singer and actress has moved past her dark times, as she celebrates her sobriety anniversary.
The singer and actress has really taken life on her own terms in the past few years, and Demi Lovato's Instagram post over the past weekend reveals she wouldn't have been able to do it without her longtime boyfriend, "That 70's Show" actor Wilmer Valderrama.
According to The Daily Mail, besides having a touching moment on Demi Lovato's Instagram, the 22 year-old Disney Channel actress took to Twitter to thank her friends, fans and family over the difficult time she went through to get to her sobriety, as she celebrates her third year without touching alcohol or drugs, after she entered a rehab clinic.
Perez Hilton reports that she also honored boyfriend Valderrama in her post, saying he completed her and "wouldn't be alive today" if it weren't for him.
The star has gone through many issues in the past, having admitted to self-harming and eating disorder bulimia besides her issues with dependency, and she was diagnosed with bipolar syndrome a few years back - but, judging from Demi Lovato's Instagram, the "Princess Protection Star" is doing so much better these days.
As Entertainment Tonight reports, Demi Lovato's Instagram wasn't the only social profile celebrating the 22 year-old's accomplishment, as her boyfriend Valderrama took to the same social network to say how proud he was of Lovato, writing a beautiful message for the star.
"Today, we lay another stone together," Valderrama wrote. "It is now 3 years since you said: I am more important than any past, demon, disorder or addiction..Where you decided that YOUR life was worth living while loving yourself. And I'm sure glad you did."
Demi Lovato's Instagram is the ultimate proof of the star's progress - good on her and congratulations on her third sobriety birthday!
