Only a few days after announcing her return to the road for her last-ever tour, the famous country singer is now opening up about her past, including the Shania Twain ex BFF controversy, years after Marie-Anne Thiébaud, her former best friend and secretary, stole her husband Robert "Mutt" Lange.
In a rare interview for the private singer, information regarding Shania Twain's ex BFF controversy from years ago emerged, as Twain spoke about how she felt when Lange, the father of her teenage son Eja, left her for another woman.
According to The Daily Mail, the Shania Twain ex BFF issue happened seven years ago, when her then-husband "Mutt" Lange left Twain for who she considered to be her best friend besides her secretary for many years, Marie-Anne Thiébaud, in an incident that left the "You're Still The One" singer devastated.
According to E! Online, the interview about Shania Twain ex BFF happened during last Wednesday's "Watch What Happens Live," as the country star was asked what she would say to Marie-Anne in case she ever ran into her anywhere.
"I wish I'd never met you," Twain said simply, not giving a lot of details.
The whole Shania Twain ex BFF issue seems a little like a soap opera. Thiebaud had an affair with Twain's husband Lange that resulted in their divorce, and then they both married each other a while later ... and things got even more complex when Twain found love elsewhere as well: with Frederic Nicolas Thiebaud, the man who'd been married to Marie-Anne.
"It was like I was kicked off my own bus while it was moving full speed ahead, and I landed in the dirt and everything I had was thrown out after me," said Twain about the Shania Twain ex BFF issue at the time, according to Us Weekly. "And after tumbling and getting a mouthful of dirt, I had to try to stand up, then figure out where I was and start walking."
