Johnny Depp Injured On ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 5’ Set, Will Jack Sparrow Come Back To Screens?

The Oscar-nominated actor is finally filming the fifth installment of the saga about Captain Jack Sparrow, entitled "Captains of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" - however, as he was in the middle of the production in Australia, it has been reported that Johnny Depp's injured and will even require surgery.

Of course, the fact that Johnny Depp's injured takes a toll on two major things going on in his life: not only will the Disney sequel suffer, but he's also a newlywed (as he recently married his "Rum Diary" co-star Amber Heard), and it's not altogether too nice to have a major injury only weeks after tying the knot.

According to website Coming Soon, news that Johnny Depp's injured came from an exclusive report by another news outlet, as it was said that the "Edward Scissorhands" actor had injured his hand gravely enough to require a return to the United States for surgery.

Apparently, at the time that Johnny Depp's injury first appeared last weekend, the 51 year-old wasn't on set.

As The Wrap reports, news that Johnny Depp's injury didn't halt the entirety of the production, as it's still set to be released on July 7, 2017.

Disney Pictures confirmed the injury, however, they also said that this only minimally delayed production, as Depp's injury wasn't as bad as it had been previously reported.

According to The Daily Mail, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will feature an almost entirely new cast. Although Oscar-winning Geoffrey Rush will reprise his role as Captain Hector Barbossa (Sparrow's frenemy), other additions to the film are Javier Bardem (after his wife Penelope Cruz co-starred in the previous "Pirates" film), Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites.

Fans of the actor and the pirate saga can rest assured: Johnny Depp's injured, yes, but the show must go on!
