Harrison Ford Injured: ‘Air Force One’ Actor In Plane Crash, Indiana Jones Wife Calista Flockhart Rushes To Hospital

For close to forty years, the phrase "Harrison Ford injured" has been often associated with action films, as the iconic actor has been making that kind of film for a very long time - unfortunately, this time, the actor who plays Han Solo in "Star Wars" wasn't performing any stunts in front of a camera.

News that Harrison Ford's injured broke out last Thursday, after it was reported that the actor, who's a trained pilot of both aircrafts and helicopters, had been involved in a plane crash where not long after takeoff.

According to USA Today, the "Raiders of the Lost Ark" star had just recently taken off from the Santa Monica Airport last Thursday afternoon, when he reported an engine failure and requested to go back to the airfield not long afterwards, and ended up crash-landing the aircraft and leaving Harrison Ford injured.

"Harrison was flying a WW2 vintage plane today which had engine trouble upon take off. He had no other choice but to make an emergency landing, which he did safely," said, Ina Treciokas, the actor's publicist, in an e-mail to NBC News about Harrison Ford's injured status.

It has been reported that Harrison Ford's injured his head, as a witness has told the media that the actor had blood running down his face as he was rushed to UCLA Hospital, where he went through surgery on Thursday night; he also suffered from a broken arm, besides other injuries.

It seems, however, that the actor is "battered but okay," as his son, Ben Ford, stated through Twitter.

Ford was flying alone when the accident occurred, but The Inquisitr reports that his wife, "Ally McBeal" star Calista Flockhart, ran to his side not long afterwards, as her car was seen in the UCLA Hospital.

Though Harrison Ford's injured, hospital authorities have said that the 72 year-old actor will be able to make a full recovery.
