The "Fifty Shades of Grey" star hosted the NBC variety show for the first time and Melanie Griffith daughter made it possible for her proud parents to be together despite the fact that they were already divorced for the second time.
In her opening stint for the show she stated, "You may not know this but my parents are Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson. It is incredible that I am standing on this stage right now because in December 1988 my mother stood in this exact spot."
"After the show my father got down on one knee and proposed to her - and exactly nine months later I was born. So I must have been conceived that night, or even during the show. Isn't that right you guys?"
Before she talked about her parents, Melanie Griffith daughter took the stage to make a witty opening about her blockbuster movie, "Fifty Shades of Grey."
She said that the movie has completely changed her life as her dry cleaner won't look her at her eyes anymore and her dog walker gives her a wink every time he takes the leash down off the wall.

As PEOPLE reports, Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson were married and separated for the first time in 1976. They got back together in 1989 when the former "Working Girl" star gave birth to Dakota Johnson.
They separated in 1994 and lived together again for a short period of time the following year before they settled their second time divorce.
