‘Blade Runner’ Sequel Cast: Harrison Ford Returns, NOT Directed By Ridley Scott [DETAILS]

Over the last couple of years, it has seemed that Harrison Ford, the actor behind modern classic roles like Indiana Jones and Han Solo, has reached a busy stage in his life as many of his past roles are getting sequels or reboots - and now there's more information about the "Blade Runner" sequel cast.

A classic among cyberpunk films, the original 1982 movie stars Ford as Rick Deckard, as he tries to pursue and kill four replicants, with Daryl Hanah among them, in a free adaptation of the Philip K. Kirk novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" - and as the "Blade Runner" sequel cast news is revealed, so is part of the plot.

In the latest news regarding the "Blade Runner" sequel cast, Slash Film has reported that indeed, Harrison Ford will be reprising his iconic role as Rick Deckard, the title character and the man who tries to bring down the androids that are now loose in the streets.

Though not much more is known about the "Blade Runner" sequel cast, one thing is clear: according to The Guardian, the new film will not be directed by Ridley Scott, the man who directed the original (along with other classics like "Alien," "Thelma and Louise" and even the Academy Award Best Picture winning film "Gladiator"), but rather by Denis Villeneuve, the director of the 2013 film "Enemy."

Scott will still be directing, however.

Before any further announcements regarding the "Blade Runner" sequel cast were made, Variety reported that Harrison Ford had discussed the film in public, saying its screenplay was the best thing the actor had "ever read."

While science fiction fans wait for further news about the "Blade Runner" sequel cast, Ford will be going back as one of his most famous characters, Han Solo, in "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens," and there are rumors that he might be in a new Indiana Jones film as well.
