Amanda Bynes Update: ‘What I Like About You’ Star Living On Her Own, Doing Better After Amanda Bynes Parents Issues

Over the last couple of years, which have seen Amanda Bynes' updates become less and less positive, there's finally some good news about the troubled actress and fashion designer, as the first reports of her improving have finally popped in headlines across America.

Throughout the better part of 2014, each Amanda Bynes update was more worrying than the last one: soon after the star was released from her parents' conservatorship, she was arrested for DUI, accused her father of having sexually abused her as a child (which she later denied had happened, though saying he had put a "microchip" in her brain instead) and her parents ultimately regained conservatorship of her.

Now, The Daily Mail reports that the latest Amanda Bynes update sees the 28 year-old actress finally bouncing back from her legal and psychiatric issues, living by herself and having a better relationship with her parents, after she reportedly threatened to kill them last November.

According to People Magazine, Bynes was just in the midst of a closed discussion with a judge last Tuesday in a Ventura County, California hearing, which saw the latest Amanda Bynes update about her legal status: she had her conservatorship extended until another hearing in the summer, specifically on June 23.

Though she's living on her own right now, this Amanda Bynes update means that the former actress doesn't currently control her own finances or her medical needs, which include psychiatric treatment.

"Amanda is doing much better from where she was months ago," said a family member to ABC News. "She has her own apartment and is much happier. She and her parents are getting along and Amanda is clear-headed, more focused and has more independence."

This Amanda Bynes update is great news for the troubled former child star, as it's been a rocky few months for her - but hopefully, things will no nowhere but up from now on!
