Divorce Expo And A New Book That Helps Men Start Over In The Kitchen

The “divorce expo” opens in New York this weekend but many in attendance may be forgetting one important step in starting over: cooking.

With the U.S. divorce rate hovering near 50%, many newly divorce men are finding themselves in the kitchen for the first time. Many fail. But, the newly released book “Relax Dad, It’s Just the Kitchen” gives step-by-step instructions on the very important task of setting up a successful
kitchen and preparing edible meals.

“I’ve been there and done that”, says the book’s author, Stan Reese of Huntsville, Alabama. “After my divorce, I failed in finances, I failed in relationships and I failed in the kitchen”.

Reese used the early food failures as the basis of his book, which he describes as a kitchen book for men.

“It does have more than seventy simple recipes so it could be called a cook book but it also has chapters on which kitchen tools to purchase and which products to always keep in the pantry”, the
veteran Dad explains. “There are even chapters on safe food handling, shopping and measurements”.

Reese spent fifteen years as a single Dad, caring for and cooking for his daughter and son. He admits that his lack of experience in the kitchen once caused the evacuation of his apartment building in Virginia.

“It was a combination of lack of experience and a complicated recipe”, Reese claims. “It was also due to the fact that I added too many cheese puffs to the mackerel. But, at least I learned from my
mistake. I never add cheese puffs to fish recipes anymore”.

Reese, now forty-eight, has since remarried and has three new children ages 6, 4 and 3. His oldest children are now grown. He still does most of the cooking in his home and is glad to report that the neighbors no longer complain.

“It was a lot of trial and even more errors”, Reese explains. “I really hope that this book will help men take that one giant leap in the kitchen”. He also says he hopes the book will prevent future
evacuations across America.

The book, “Relax Dad, It’s Just the Kitchen” is available on Amazon and also through the author’s website, www.RelaxDad.com. Reese hopes to continue writing future “Relax Dad” to help men everywhere be better Dads.
