Leonard Nimoy Health Takes Bad Turn As ‘Star Trek’ Spock Is Hospitalized

Famous for his long-running role as Mr. Spock in the "Star Trek" original series and films, Leonard Nimoy's health is the cause of great concern for trekkies and science fiction fans around the world, who now take turns in vigil after the 83 year-old actor with the deep voice gets hospitalized.

Though often forgotten due to his iconic status, the fact is that Leonard Nimoy's health could often be endangered due to the fact that at 83 he's already past his eighth decade, with his 84th birthday only a month away - so it's no shock that, even preventively, the "Wrath of Khan" actor is moved to a hospital.

According to TMZ, it seems like Leonard Nimoy's health took a dip to the worse over the past week, after the actor was rushed to the hospital for chest pains following a 911 call in his home - though his representatives have neither confirmed or denied the story.

Website Comicbook.com states that Leonard Nimoy's health hasn't been the best lately, as the "Star Trek" actor has been visiting the hospital more and more often in the past few months, having even publicly admitted to having obstructive pulmonary disease, which apparently he developed after having smoked for many years.

Los Angeles Times reports that the concern for Leonard Nimoy's health comes after there was a report of a 911 call from his home, and afterwards paramedics took one person to the nearest hospital; though the identity of the patient hasn't been confirmed by either Nimoy's people or the Los Angeles Fire Department, records show that the Bel-Air Stone Canyon Road home is where the Mr. Spock actor lives.

The public became to really worry about Leonard Nimoy's health earlier this year, as the actor announced last January 29 that he had the aforementioned pulmonary disease, which can block airflow, makes it hard to breathe and could even lead to conditions like chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
