After failing to play Madonna's "Living For Love," supporters of the 56-year-old iconic crooner think that she was disqualified from BBC's playlist because of her age!
According to Perez Hilton report, although the single "Living For Love," were requested frequently in BBC 1, they transferred Madonna BBC Radio 1 song to BBC Radio 2 where they were playing demos of singers with ages 35 and up.
Was Madonna irrelevant and old? These were the questions lingering after not playing Madonna's song raised controversies. However, the popular radio station slammed the rumors stating that they decide on the merit of the song and not based on age.
To answer the allegations on Madonna BBC Radio 1 rumors, a Ten Minute Takeover feature made Madonna's fans to rage over the radio station. Digital Spy mentioned that a Facebook user commented, "I'm 17. I'm not old. I want to listen to MADONNA!!"
Madonna BBC Radio 1 sparked rumors after fans noticed that the radio station just played Madonna's new single once in January 9 when DJ Annie Mac aired it in her evening show. It was slated to Capital FM's main playlist.
Madonna was not the first artists to be banned from BBC Radio 1 playlist, Entertainment Online cited that even Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue and Take That were also banned being in their age of 40 and above.

As the fury among Madonna’s supporter continues, the BBC Radio 1 finally came out and released a statement on their Facebook page stating that Radio 1 does not ban anyone and don’t believe the papers. It added, Paul McCartney currently has two tracks with them- 'FourFiveSeconds' and 'Only One.'
NZ Herald reported that an insider revealed that the radio station decided to exclude Madonna’s song on the basis of ‘musical merit’ and ‘audience relevance.’ The insider added, Madonna BBC Radio 1 conflict is the result of being irrelevant to the young listeners and the station has to reflect on that.
