Honey Hill Farms Announces “Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Bun” Soft-serve Frozen Yogurt Flavor

Sugar Creek Foods International Inc., a privately-held frozen yogurt manufacturer with independently owned and operated end-users throughout the United States and abroad, has designed the new Honey Hill Farms flavor Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Bun, containing cinnamon and cream cheese icing droplets, combined with a buttery dough background flavor in a frozen yogurt base. Sugar Creek, a pioneer in using bulky flavorings such as fruit purees, cookies, flavor droplets, complex background flavors, and nuts in its Honey Hill Farms’ frozen soft-serve yogurt products, is incredibly excited about this new flavor.

Scott Van Horn, President and partner said, “Our R&D team continues to lead the development of indulgent soft-serve frozen yogurt flavors by creating a truly unique flavor profile, combining all the delicious flavors of a fresh- baked cinnamon bun that consumers will love. This is another very unique product for the soft-serve and self-serve frozen yogurt industry. We are constantly testing and designing products for our customers that will give shops an edge in the market place.” Bud Gunter, VP Sales and partner added, “This is another one of those flavors that will separate our customers’ shops from the competition down the road. The key to success and growth in the ever-competitive frozen yogurt business revolves around the ability to rotate flavors and utilize flavor and swirl strategies, enticing consumers with exciting new frozen yogurt flavors and combinations, along with our other bulky flavor offerings. Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Bun frozen yogurt joins Honey Hill Farms’ latest indulgent flavor, Sea Salt Caramel Pretzel which launched last week with great success.”

Van Horn adds this delicious flavor will transport you back to Grandma’s kitchen. “Ooey Gooey Cinnamon Bun uniquely captures swirls of cream cheese icing, a cinnamon bun treat that you won’t believe is low-fat frozen yogurt. Adding the bulky flavorings, such as cream cheese icing droplets, cinnamon, and mouth-watering buttery background flavors - like you would find in a traditional hard-pack ice cream - is always a challenge in a soft-serve product that has to run through a soft-serve machine,” stated Van Horn. “We believe our R&D team is one of the best in the industry and definitely at the heart of our success. I am amazed by their creative spirit and results,” commented Gunter. Sugar Creek is currently testing other indulgent frozen soft-serve yogurt flavors, using the same style bulky flavoring system to round out their new seasonal flavoring offerings. New and exciting flavor selections are a large part of a shop’s success in the self-serve frozen yogurt shop business, and Sugar Creek plans to continue to be on the cutting-edge in frozen yogurt development. Last year Sugar Creek introduced Lemon Ice Box Pie, Fizzy Cherry Limeade, Cupcake (with added cream cheese droplets!), and Tropical Sorbet, along with Rocky Road (marshmallow and nut droplets added). Sugar Creek has additional new flavor concepts for the summer frozen yogurt season that will complement its 40-plus frozen soft-serve dessert selection.
