Sriracha Ketchup Heinz: Sriracha Craze Continues As Heinz Experiments Huy Fong Foods Success

Over the past few years, it seems there's Sriracha-flavored everything, anywhere you look: from Doritos to even a Sriracha-flavored pizza in Pizza Hut; now, the latest to take advantage of the highly popular jalapeno sauce is the traditional food processing company, as they release a Sriracha ketchup Heinz.

Known for basically inventing tomato ketchup at the beginning of the 20th century (specifying because, at the time, there were ketchup sauces made out of other things), Heinz has now taken on a challenge as it introduces a product set to entice younger customers and their thirst for the Huy Fong Foods "rooster sauce," making up a Sriracha ketchup Heinz.

According to Time Magazine, the new Sriracha ketchup Heinz has been officially released by the food processing giant, and can now be found in retailers across the country, including Target and Walmart, for the pleasure of everyone who's gotten addicted to the hot sauce in recent years.

It will retail for $2.69, on a 14-ounce plastic squeezable bottle presentation.

As Fox News reports, the hot sauce comes from Thailand, but has become popular in the United States due to a company called Huy Fong Foods, based in California, which is known across the country for its particular bottle (which is made at the very venue in Irwindale) and for having a rooster as a mark.

Now, many wonder whether the Sriracha ketchup by Heinz will have the same success as its California predecessor - but the craze surrounding the hot sauce points towards a yes. Surely, web comic artist The Oatmeal, obsessed with the hot sauce, will be first in line to purchase the new one!

"We are thrilled to announce that Heinz Tomato Ketchup Blended with Sriracha Flavor will join the beloved Heinz Ketchup portfolio," said Joseph Giallanella, the Brand Manager of Heinz Tomato Ketchup, in a statement regarding the Sriracha Ketchup by Heinz published in their website. "Building off of our successful line of flavored ketchups, fans told us that they would love another bold take on their favorite condiment. The new offering adds a new kick to your favorite foods and recipes, pairing well with cheeseburgers, French fries and hot dogs, and is the perfect flavor boost for chicken and eggs."
