Lottery Winner Arthur Neal Found Dead: Old Man, 86, Stabbed Multiple Times After Winning Lottery

Lottery winner, Arthur Neal found dead in a vacated home in Detroit, Michigan on Sunday. The 86-year-old man went missing since Dec. 20 after telling his family members that he won the lottery. After almost two months, he was found, but the news crashed the hearts of his family after knowing he's dead.

When the police investigators arrived at the crime scene at 15800 block of Mansfield, they found the body of Neal covered under a tarp.

He was stabbed multiple times in a house three miles northwest where his body was located. It was not clear yet if the lottery winner Arthur Neal found dead was stabbed due to his impending fortune.

According to his family, the old man told them that he won $20,000 in a lottery on Dec. 19. As USA Today reports, Detroit police spokesman Officer Adam Madera stated that they have not also confirmed whether Neal had really won the lottery and if someone had cashed the winning ticket.

Before the lottery winner Arthur Neal, found dead INQUISTR reported that family members of Neal told police authorities that they found the old man's home disorderly. The door of his home was also slightly open that made the authorities think that there's no foul play in his disappearance.

Since Neal was reported missing, his family became worried since it is very unlikely that their grandfather would not spend Christmas with them.

The family was worried about his disappearance, but never had it come to their mind that one day the authorities will report that their grandfather would die that way. It was on Sunday when the lottery winner Arthur Neal found dead.

A neighbor with the name of Fred commented, "That's scary. That's scary. I have vacant houses on both sides of me - it's scary." It was that time he recalled that recently, he spotted a young man in the vacant house and thought that he was just squatting and not disturbing the property.

Investigators are still digging evidences on the case of the lottery winner Arthur Neal found dead as the real murderer is still roaming around.

The Detroit Police Department has been contacting the Michigan lottery office regarding the lottery winner Arthur Neal found dead. Michigan Lottery spokesman Jeff Holyfield stated that they have no record of Mr. Neal claiming the prize or any prize for that matter.

"I can't tell you whether or not he won, but I know he never cashed in any tickets," Holyfield stated.

Earlier before the body of the lottery winner Arthur Neal found dead, the family reported that his house was disorderly and the door is slightly open that made the Detroit Police investigators conclude that it was not a case of foul play.

However, the story went different way when they visited the home of the lottery winner, Arthur Neal who was found dead. When the investigators arrived on Wednesday, it seemed that his house was not even disarray.

According to The Detroit News, Arthur Neal was one of the 28 homicide victims in his city. Homicide case grew up 75 percent the same period last year. The 86-year-old man was living before in a city where shooting, assault, robbery, carjacking, and burglary happen.

After lottery winner Arthur Neal found dead, his granddaughter stated that she wished that the winning lottery news didn't come out. She added because of that, her grandfather became the target of people with bad intentions.
