According to Kotaku, the latest "The Simpsons" couch gag was co-created with Ivan Dixon and Paul Robertson, and featured a chiptune remix version of the classic Danny Elfman-created theme song created by Jeremy Dower, and it was basically a love letter to all those people who truly love videogames - whether or not they like the sitcom itself!
Geek culture websites such as Den of Geek have widely praised the latest "The Simpsons" couch gag, as the 16-bit version of the Simpson family of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie features the five most famous people in Springfield, with little quips to the past in video game history, getting better and sweeter as it goes along.
As website TheMusic.Com.Au points out, the company that created the new gag is Australian, and it is called Rubber House Studios, as it features a project filled with nostalgia for those who played the old "Simpsons" game, showing a sweet reworking of the titles with small cameos from muu-muu Homer, future bad from "King Size Homer," Ringo Starr, a "Clockwork Orange" Bart and even the Space Mutants, a crowd favorite.
