Known throughout the world for being in the list of billionaires and for having created the biggest social network in the web, Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook page recently had the famous entrepreneur showing a new project, one nobody would think he'd be going through: a book club.
For Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook and his own personality have become such household names that at 30 years of age he even has his own biographical movie, "The Social Network," based on one of his biographies and directed by Academy Award-nominated David Fincher, the man behind films like "Se7en" and "Fight Club" - but it's fair to say nobody expected Zuckerberg would be going the Oprah Winfrey way.
According to Business Insider, Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook page saw the billionaire starting 2015 with a big resolution: having the world join his global book club. In the first few days of the year, he vowed he'd become more of a bookworm in 2015, saying he'd be reading a book every couple of weeks, inviting everyone else to do the same.
As CBC reports, the Mark Zuckerberg Facebook post was inspired by comments in a previous one, from 2014, in which the famous computer programmer asked users around the globe for suggestions about what should his resolutions for the new year be, and apparently he really liked the idea of creating his own book club for the world to follow through.
"I'm excited for my reading challenge. I've found reading books very intellectually fulfilling," Zuckerberg said in the post as he was making his announcement, according to Fortune. "Books allow you to fully explore a topic and immerse yourself in a deeper way than most media today."
Users who decide to follow Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook reading resolution can join in "A Year of Books" a newly created group where they'll be able to discuss the different books chosen.
