After only a few years, the Huy Fong Foods staple product has become the go-to chili sauce to add to just about any meal, from pizza to even soup - now, in a video recently released by the company creator, the Sriracha secrets of flavor have finally been revealed!
Over the past few years and following a massive campaign by web cartoonist Matthew Inman (best known as The Oatmeal), Sriracha has become America's most popular flavor, and there was even an attempt to create Sriracha Doritos a couple of years ago - now fans of this delicious Thai chili sauce can hear all about Sriracha's secrets!
According to Fox News, the Sriracha secrets video was just recently released by Hypebeast's YouTube channel, as they went up to the Irwindale, California plant where the delicious sauce is made to learn more about the process behind the creation, bottling and expansion of Sriracha.
As Pasadena Star News reported last year, Sriracha has been in an ongoing battle with neighbors of the Irwindale factory for quite some time now, after the people who live in the area of the factory have vastly complained about its presence being a public nuisance, stating that the factory emitted a series of smells that made living in the neighboring area a difficult task. However, by 2014 the Irwindale City Council stated that the lawsuit would not proceed.
In any case, as Geek.com reports, the Sriracha secrets video features David Tran, the Chinese-Vietnamese founder and CEO of Huy Fong Foods, talking about how he created his multimillion dollar business thirty five years ago after getting away from his native Vietnam; the name of the company actually comes from the boat that carried him from Vietnam into the United States, where he'd make a name for himself by making and selling the delicious spice.
