Famke Janssen Interview: ‘Taken’ Star Slams Russell Crowe Over Ageist And Sexist Comments [PHOTOS]

Often considered one of the most beautiful women in show business ever since she first made it to mainstream media by playing sexy and deadly Bond girl Xenia Onatopp in Pierce Brosnan's debut as 007, "GoldenEye," Famke Janssen's interviews certainly have a lot to say about being a woman in Hollywood - something Russell Crowe knows nothing about.

A few days ago, "Gladiator" actor Russell Crowe made headlines after stating that the only reason aging actresses couldn't get roles in Hollywood was because they refused to act their own age; now, a recent Famke Janssen interview shows just how annoyed the "X-Men" actress is about the whole thing.

The Famke Janssen interview about the Russell Crowe comments on The Australian Women's Weekly is only one in a crowd: many around the world have commented Crowe's speaking from the privileged position of being male in Hollywood, a fact that means he hasn't had to deal with the enormous pressure aging actresses face when they no longer look 20, as the industry forces them to look younger through extreme care and plastic surgery.

Famously, Crowe's "Cinderella Man" co-star Renee Zellweger was recently the subject of concern in the media, following a red carpet appearance where she appeared to have had so many plastic surgeries that she didn't look like herself anymore.

Janssen, on the other hand, is a 50 year-old actress working in Hollywood.

"That's interesting," said Famke Janssen's interview, according to Us Weekly, as she walked the red carpet of the premiere of her latest film co-starring Liam Neeson, Taken 3. "I don't remember him being female."

However, according to The Spec, that's not where things ended in the Famke Janssen interview, as she voiced her opinions about the Australian actor; she also stated that it was a shame that things didn't work in Hollywood the way they had in the 1920s and 1930s, the golden age of women in film, as women's roles were far vaster for actresses like Bette Davis, Joan Crawford or Katharine Hepburn.
