The Los Angeles superstar and future hall of famer Kober Bryant might have ceded to the fact that in order for him to play A game basketball he has to rest hi ageing body for some time. Lakers coach Byron Scott's experiment might be paying off after all. Kobe's recent performance against the Indiana Pacers is a testament to that. On their last game Lakers beat the Pacers on a heart-stopping 88-87 game.
Kobe once again demonstrated what a top notch player could do, unfortunately for the Pacers they were the receiving end of that performance. The five time NBA champion score 20 points in the game shooting the winning shot with just 12.4 seconds left on the game clock. Although the Lakers have been trailing for the better half of the game, their patient offense and unflappable defense have kept them steady throughout the game.
During the post-game press conference Kobe said "I have many faults, but one of my strengths is that I can be realistic and that I can build around that. I have to understand my weaknesses, what I can't do, accept it and then try to dominate."
Nick "Swaggy P" Young lead the Lakers in points with 22 and Kobe closely follows with 20 points.
The Pacers on the other hand was led by C.J. Miles who comes off the bench with 19 points. Donald Sloan scored an additional 16 points. Roy Hibbert contributed 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. The Pacer has been plagued with injuries, George Hill, Ian Mahinmi and C.J. Watson was forced to watch the game in the sideline due to sustained injuries. If the Pacers won this game, they would have had recorded their first ever three game winning streak of the season.
The Pacers will be playing on Utah on Monday while the Lakers will play on Portland on the same day.
