Byron Scott’s Experiment Works Well With Kobe

Los Angeles Lakers coach Byron Scott is pleased to see that Kobe Bryant's performance has been steadily improving. Based on his last three games, Bryant has averaged nearly a triple double. However, Byron Scott says Kobe still has a lot of room for improvement specially in creating more shots in the court.

On a the game against Sacramento Kings, Bryant had made only 8 out of his 30 shots in the game and is averaging 22 shots per game in the season. After a three day break however, Bryant came back playing with his minutes cut down and on his last three games only averaged 11.6 shots per game.

In an interview, Bryant shared that his time out of the court has really given him the rest his much needed and also added that his time on the bench gave him more time to watch his teammates play in turn creating a sort of outlook for the teams overall chemistry.

It was reported that although Bryant showed up in the Lakers training facility on Saturday, he did not participate in the team practice and coach Byron Scott sent him home not long after. Kobe is also slated to start against the Indiana Pacers in their game on Sunday.

Basketball experts say that Byron Scott is testing a playing time experiment on Kobe. Cutting Kobe's on court playing time as well as putting him on the bench in their last three games.

When Kobe Bryant was asked about Byron Scott's latest coaching strategy, the superstar said "I had a chance to really evaluate my game and taking more straight line drops and more efficiency of movement. I don't know it my body can take the workload. In a situation where teams just double me all over the floor, it's not like I'm passing up shits. I don't have them because they stack up and trap. Back in my younger days I could go through that stuff and have 30-40 points, now my body can't take it, so I'll dominate the game in a different way."
