It's practically an everyday occurrence that things get heated up between the moderators of "The View" - but the screaming match that saw Whoopi and Rosie fight over racism last Thursday was a whole other ballpark for the two actresses.
As United States protests in the past few months have become increasingly about cases like Ferguson's Michael Brown, discussions on the subject are bound to become heated in every possible outlet in the country, and the fact that Whoopi and Rosie fight over racism is living proof of it.
According to The New York Daily News, the Whoopi and Rosie fight over racism started as a regular discussion of an everyday nature for the two co-hosts of the talk show, but things got tougher and tougher as the two actresses known for their comedy started screaming at each other.
The topic first came up as they discussed racism with guest trans actress and activist Laverne Cox (from "Orange is the New Black") as they talked about the recently published People Magazine interview with President Obama and First Lady Michelle, where the White House residents talked about their own experiences with racism before he became President.
Now, the recent Whoopi and Rosie fight over racism had them disagreeing on what was the border between being racist and just "ridiculous." According to E! Online, what set off the screaming match was that Cox said that being followed and profiled when going to a store was racist, a statement with which Goldberg disagreed, creating a very awkward exchange between them, as Rosie Perez also agreed with Cox and O'Donnell.
As things became more and more heated up, eventually the Whoopi and Rosie fight over racism reached its climax when the Oscar winner basically told O'Donnell that the fact that she was white gave her very little right to discuss these matters, which basically caused O'Donnell to explode, stating that she was a gay woman in America experiencing homophobia and raising a black child - to which Whoopi said it wasn't the same.
The screaming match was eventually halted as Laverne Cox graciously took the lead again, cooling down the room. This has probably been one of the harshest conflicts between the two co-hosts of the show - and that's considering they fight practically every week!
