The dietary regimen of the parents who practice the religion of Seventh-Day Adventists is being the reason pointed out that led to the death of a child. However, the Calgary Pastor who is part of the religion's congregation said that a child is not supposed to practice the said dietary restriction.
The pastor identified as Randy Barber said that the religion does make the diet and health as a priority but members are being encouraged to still live a healthy lifestyle despite what is written in their bible.
The pastor pointed out that it does not specifically say that their followers should strictly be vegan or if they want to eat meat, they teach a person to eat clean meats in order to make sure that they a balanced and a healthy diet.
The pastor said that more than 60 percent of their followers are vegetarians but it is their personal choice.
This is in reference to the 2013 case when a 14-year-old boy identified as John Clark died of a deadly staph infection as reported by police officials. The boy was said to have been undergoing an extreme vegan diet that was administered by his parents identifies as Jermoie Clark, 34, and Jennifer Clark, 38.
The parents were reportedly charged with criminal negligence that has caused the death of their child.
According to the pastor, he baptized Jeromie back in 2002 and he said that he was "paranoid". He adds that he realized he had a very radical thinking and he was more like a "survivalist". The pastor adds that a person in the audience took a photo of Jeromie being baptized and he got really angry as he explained that his photo might be given to the government.
Also, Jeromie reportedly got married a few years after and he got Jennifer to quit her job and they totally isolated themselves.
