TIME PERSON OF THE YEAR 2014 NOMINEES: TAYLOR SWIFT, TIM COOK, AND MORE! WHO IS THE WINNER? [PHOTOS + VIDEO]

TIME person of the year 2014 nominees have been already revealed on Monday. TIME managing director Nancy Gibbs made the crucial announcement of the TIME person of the year 2014 nominees on NBC's Today Show. TIME person of the year 2014 based on online poll was also named.

TIME person of the year 2014 nominees were picked based on their huge impact on the world and news over the period of the year. Nominees could be an individual person or group that have stood up no matter what the cause and had greatly influenced the world.

Nominees include prominent names that have been present in the media throughout the year. TIME had named eight of the nominees including Tim Cook, Taylor Swift, Ferguson Protesters, Vladimir Putin, Masoud Barzani, Roger Goodell, Ebola caregivers, and Jack Ma.

TIME person of the year 2014 nominees for online poll had already picked a winner. Online voters chose Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi who garnered 78 percent votes against other candidates. Prime Minister Modi was acknowledged for his winning leadership in pursuing economic development in India.

TIME person of the year 2014 nominees include Tim Cook for launching successful Apple flagship devices iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus during the late quarter of the year that beat all set records on devices sales. He also emerged as a winner after he proudly comes out as a "gay" despite his position and fame.

Taylor Swift is another TIME person of the year 2014 nominees who have hit headlines for personally requesting her entire music catalog from Spotify streaming services be removed after an alleged misunderstanding. The 1989 star said her move could help other artists.

Other TIME person of the year 2014 nominees include Ferguson protesters who were not afraid to show their support over the 18-year-old Black who died after a white officer shoot and killed him. The fight continued from August to November after Grand Jury announced not to indict the police officer.

Ebola caregivers who remained at risk while they care for the people who are sick due to the Ebola virus must also be given acknowledgement. TIME person of the year 2014 nominees also include the Russian president Vladimir Putin, and English teacher who turned CEO of Alibaba, Jack Ma.

Masoud Barzani, the acting-president of Iraqi's Kurdish region and Roger Goodell, whose leadership as National Football League commissioner was questioned over domestic cruelty of football players were among the remaining TIME person of the year 2014 nominees.

TIME person of the year was changed to its current name since 1999 to include female candidates for the title. TIME has named Person of the year to the following since 2000 to 2013:

George Bush (2000), Rudy Guiliani (2001), The Whistleblowers (2002), The American Soldier (2003), George Bush (2004), Bono, Bill and Melinda Gates (2005), "You" (2006), Vladimir Putin (2007), Barack Obama (2008), Ben Bernanke (2009), Mark Zuckerberg (2010), The Protester (2011), Barack Obama (2012) and Pope Francis (2013).

One of the TIME person of the year 2014 nominees will be picked as a winner. Announcement of the final TIME person of the year 2014 will be revealed on Wednesday at NBC Today Show.
