Cat Survives Move To Hawaii After No Food Or Water For 36 Days

Cat Survives Move To Hawaii - Mee Moowe, the beloved pet of the Barth family, was going to move from Suffolk, Virginia to Maui, Hawaii together with them. Still, a problem occurred.

Ashley Barth, the mother, had hired a moving company to get all the furniture from the house and ship it to Maui. After they were done, there was no more furniture in the house. There was also no cat.

"I couldn't find her anywhere. I figured maybe the moving company scared her and she took off or maybe she just didn't like it because there was no furniture in the home," CBC noted.

The family delayed their trip for three more nights in order to wait for Mee Moowe. Still, she never appeared and they couldn't wait any longer.

Then, thirty-six days after they left, the furniture arrived to Maui. When the movers began unloading, they heard a faint "meow." Ashley couldn't quite believe her cat could survive the move, until they heard another sound again.

The movers asked if that was a cat and once they opened the box, they found it was indeed a cat. Mee Moowe was inside, with a half less of her body weight. The cat was also anemic and with her eyes crusted shut.

"I was in shock. I couldn't believe it. I think I was grateful she was alive, but I was furious this happened to her," said Ashley Barth and KXAN reported.

After the finding, the cat was taken to veterinarians, who validated the story of the cat surviving the move to Hawaii without any food or water. They said it was unlikely but not impossible.

The surviving cat is now at the veterinarians and will stay in quarantine for three months as she still doesn't have the proper vaccinations, and all of it is costing the family $4,000, Hawaii News Now noted.
