Dr. Phil Reveals Top Reasons Why Diets Do Not Work

Americans have been spending over $61 billion on products for weight loss but most of them do not really work as the gimmicks about losing weight are not at all true.

Due to this, Dr. Phil has written about it in his new book called "The 20/20 Diet: 20 Key Foods To Help You Succeed Where Other Diets Fail".

Dr. Phil then shares, "My goal is to get you to stop chasing diet mirages and finally get yourself on the right path, with the habits you should follow for life to achieve permanent weight loss."

Dr. Phil reportedly conducted a national survey on thousands of people and he discovered that 40.3 percent of the sample population did lose weight on the diets they tried but gained back the lost pounds after 90 days or a full year.

He then pursued to find out why people fail on diets most of the time. He had to women named Candi and Lyndsey on the stage with him during one of his shows and they are desperate to lose weight however they are not succeeding. Dr. Phil found out that reasons included lack of willpower, boredom, inconsistent results, plateaus and temptation makes it more difficult to lose weight.

He then explains "rebellion triggers" including hunger, cravings, feelings of restriction, and impracticality and expense. He explains that boredom is about people rebelling against their diet because of the food they eat routinely.

Another is cravings, which Dr. Phil says there should be something done about it because it just makes everything worse for the dieter. He also talked about the inconsistent results and the plateaus explaining that one gets discouraged because the weight loss is never consistent. Due to this, dieters halt with their diets and rebel.

Dr. Phil is to explain more about the 20/20 diet on his Tuesday episode.
