Bill Cosby Membership to Temple University Board of Trustees Ends

Bill Cosby's career seems to suffer after a series of sexual assaults came his way. Although not yet proven if indeed he is guilty of the offenses filed against him, several institutions particularly recipients of Cosby's philanthropic acts, are somewhat taking actions in order to spare their institutions from any issues concerning the comedian.

His resignation as member of Temple University's Board of Trustees was reported, Monday. However despite his removal from the Board, a post he occupied for 32 years, Cosby's passion for the institution remains. He said, "I have always wanted to do what would be in the best interests of the University and its students."

In the light of the foregoing, there were reports that Cosby was requested by Temple University to step down from his post as member of the Board of Trustees.

People revealed that Temple University is under pressure to act on Cosby's post in the Board. Kerry Potter McCormick, a Temple Alumna and now an attorney in Manhattan, aired a petition to have Cosby removed from the Board. According to her, "It's time for Temple University to sever ties with this man. Temple should not be the last organization to end its relationship with Bill Cosby - it should have happened in 2005 when the allegations against him first began to surface." Hence, McCormick appreciates the recent update about Cosby's resignation.

Cosby's comedy tour, including performances in New York, scheduled on Dec. 6 was put on hold. People revealed that tickets will be refunded.

As one of the benefactors of Temple University, Cosby and his spouse, Camille, offered scholarship grants, which was actually named after them, and provided funds for the university's various endeavors for decades. Cosby was once enrolled in the said institution.

As the world awaits the final judgment, one can weigh the his philanthropic acts which benefited humanity as well, and of course the gravity of his wrongdoing against women if proven true.
