The tale of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's relationship has been going on for about three years, amidst rumors of them being together and broken up several times - and now, her latest performance at the American Music Awards gives more substance to old rumors.
It seems that although Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are not a thing anymore, they'll go on to make some more rumors for a while now. According to UK news outlet The Daily Mail, Selena's performance of her new single, "The Heart Wants What The Heart Wants," was so touching because of the fact that she was singing about on-again-off-again love Bieber.
Last Sunday on Los Angeles, Selena performed her new single for the first time - and she had to fight back tears right when she was singing about past loves, in a move that many have said has more to do with the Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez on-again-off-again relationship than with anything else - several news outlets such as E! Online went on to speculate that the song was more personal than what was previously thought.
Amazingly enough, in the midst of Selena's performance, she wasn't the only one that almost broke in tears - her best friend Taylor Swift was also on the verge of crying, surely because she's aware of how hard things have been for her BFF in the past, as she's dealt with the Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez relationship.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez first confirmed their relationship back in 2011, and they have been tabloids' sweethearts ever since, after the tween girls' favorite heartthrob has been having trouble with the law and has been reported as going out with several women.
Earlier this week, website Heavy.com had reported that Justin Bieber had just landed in Los Angeles and was even planning to make a surprise appearance at the AMA's to see Selena, but the rumors ended up being false.
