Angelina Jolie Leaves Acting Career: 'I've Never Been Comfortable as an Actor'

Angelina Jolie said that is planning to quit being an actor and wants to focus more on her budding career in film-making. During her interview with Du Jour Magazine, Jolie revealed that she really planned to retire from her acting career. She further said that she is not really enjoying being in front of the camera or spotlight.

"I've never been comfortable as an actor; I've never loved being in front of the camera. I didn't ever think I could direct, but I hope I'm able to have a career at it because I'm much happier," Jolie said. She revealed that the planned appearance of her as Cleopatra is her last and final role as an actor.  She said in Radio Five Live on BBC that "It's one of those that you think maybe that's the one you put everything into and that's where you end it, that's where you finish - in a great way. What could you do beyond that one?"

She also said to Du Jour that convincing her husband, Brad Pitt, that the film "Unbroken" was the right project for her to spark her budding career. "Unbroken" is a story during the wartime ear. The main character is an Olympic track star and a survivor on a plane crash incident over the sea. He spent two years of his life in prisoner-of-war camp.

Seeing the four sentences of "Unbroken" referring to the list of films from studio Universal, she went home telling her husband that she was very curious about the film "Unbroken" especially the kind of life that the man is living. Brad Pitt answered her, "Oh, honey, that project has been around forever."

 Jolie said that she never thought that she can actually direct, but she still hopes that she will able to make a successful career on it because filming makes her happy.
