In case you were wondering, National Donut Day actually has some interesting history behind it. It's not your average made-up food holiday (what exactly IS National Don't Cry Over Spilled Milk Day??) - it was proclaimed in 1938 when the Salvation Army saluted their awesome "Donut Lassies" who kept soldiers' spirits high with sugary treats during WWI. Krispy Kreme: Score a free original glazed donut, no strings attached! Perfect for a quick sugar rush. You can also snag a dozen original glazed for just $2 with the purchase of any dozen in-store or at the drive-thru of participating locations.
Sheetz: Get a free donut with any coffee purchase from June 7-9 when you use the OFFERZ tab in the Sheetz app. Gas station donuts never tasted so good.
Tim Hortons: Tims Rewards members get a free donut with any drink purchase, including their new Cookie Butter Cold Brew. Yum!
