Subway's Footlong Cookie Makes a Triumphant Return

(Photo : Subway/Food World News) Footlong Cookies have returned to Subway menus nationwide following months of incredible demand.

Remember that time Subway accidentally created the most popular snack of the year and then promptly ran out? Well, fear not, my little cookie monsters - the footlong chocolate chip cookie is back, ready to wreak havoc on your waistlines once more.

This behemoth cookie was part of Subway's "Sidekick" lineup, a key element in its turnaround plan (Subway ended 2023 with the smallest number of U.S. restaurants since 2005). The giant sugar coma-inducing treat debuted in January alongside two other gimmicky desserts and side items, including a footlong soft pretzel from Auntie Anne's and a footlong diabetes stick - er, I mean a giant Cinnabon churro.

From Sidekick to Star: Millions of Footlong Cookies Consumed

Turns out, it wasn't a terrible plan because Americans went wild for the sweet, ooey gooey things, buying over 5 million of them in a matter of months. Subway, overwhelmed by the sheer volume of cookie cravings, had to temporarily remove the item from a number of their stores and delivery apps.

Paul Fabre, senior vice president of culinary and innovation at Subway, said the giant cookie "has delighted millions of Americans since their first bites in January, sparking unprecedented demand over the last several months."

Sweet Cookie Salvation

But now, Subway has restocked their shelves and is ready to unleash the footlong fury once more. Subway's footlong cookie is now available to order in person and on Subway's website and app. The chain also reports that it can also be ordered on third-party apps like Uber Eats and DoorDash. So grab your napkins (and maybe a side salad for balance), because the cookiepocalypse is upon us once more.
