A popular chia seed brand is being pulled for potential Salmonella. Find out what to do if you purchased the affected product.

Chia Seeds Recall?

Natural Sourcing International has issued a recall on its chia seeds. The company is pulling Great Value Organic Black Chia Seeds (32 oz) off shelves due to potential Salmonella contamination. Salmonella is a serious condition that can even lead to death in some, so if you are a chia fan, check to see if these are in your cupboard.

Check Your Pantry Pronto

If you've recently stocked up on these chia seeds, it's time to do a pantry sweep. Check those pouches for the lot code 24095 C018 and an expiration date of October 30, 2026. If you've got a match, toss 'em in the rubbish bin. If you have handled the product, be sure to wash your hands as well.  Natural Sourcing International will hook you up with a replacement if you provide proof of purchase. Just give their customer service a ring at 1-818-405-9705 or shoot them an email at customerservice@organically-simple.com.
