KFC Australia has launched its new Zinger® Black burger for a limited period from March 22 to April 18 in selected stores.
The Zinger® Black burger is KFC's signature Zinger® fillet according to KFC Australia's official website. KFC uses a tantalizing new burger creation to make a complete sensory and distinct experience for its customers.
With a mouth-watering new maple mustard flavoured sauce, crispy bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomato on its special new black bun, KFC's Zinger Black burger will surely be a hit to burger fanatics.
KFC makes use of vegetable carbon which makes the bun black. It is the same colouring used in several liquorices, jams and jellies.
The bun itself doesn't have a distinct flavor, but the sesame seeds sprinkles, nigella seeds, chilli flakes and black cracked pepper make it something special and these ingredients add flavor to the black burger.
According to Daily Mail, each Zinger® Black burger costs $7.45. The report added that KFC Chief Food Innovation Officer, Fritz Meyer share that a black burger bun is a bold move for KFC.
The company is passionate about its burger range and knows that its customers love its current core menu.
In addition, KFC highlights the nutritional details of one serving of Zinger® Black burger which includes:

While KFC is one of the big fast food chains in the U.S., it also wants to keep the balance on the energy needed by the body which can be measured in kilojoules (kJs).
Consumers must be extra mindful of their average daily energy intake. An adult for example needs 8,700 kJ depending on his weight, physical activity, age and gender.
Since a Zinger® Black burger contains 1973 kJ only, this means that one can still get more energy from other food sources all throughout the day.
