Stephen Collins' ex wife, Faye Grant, has said in a statement that she hadn't been the one to release the tape where the 7th Heaven actor confesses to inappropriate conduct with underage girls. However, other court documents have been leaked to the press, among them Stephen Collins' ex wife declarations of being 'sickened' by her then-husband's actions.
Stephen Collins' ex wife made sure to clarify that she had had nothing to do with the release of the tape, where the man who played patriarch Reverend Eric Camden in 7th Heaven allegedly confesses to having molested three young girls in the past, none older than 13. According to People Magazine, Faye Grant, Stephen Collins' ex wife, released a statement saying: "I woke up today to learn that an extremely private recording I handed over to the authorities in 2012 per their request in connection with a criminal investigation was recently disseminated to the press. I had no involvement whatsoever with the release of the tape to the media."
In other words, Stephen Collins' ex wife doesn't deny the authenticity of the tape, she just refuses her involvement on its release; it was previously thought she had been responsible for seeing that the recording made it to the press.
The incriminating recording isn't the only legal document involving the former marriage that has been leaked to the press. Recently, Grant's divorce documents were also released to the public, according to celebrity news website Perez Hilton. In them, the actress speaks about her former husband's problem: "I'm sickened by Stephen's actions. I have urged Stephen multiple times to seek treatment for pedophilia, but he has refused to seek proper help or hospitalization for the predilection toward children."
Stephen Collins' ex wife's words caused a police investigation to open; according to Sky News, the New York Police Department has confirmed they are looking into allegations that Collins molested a young girl in the 1970s.
