Indiana Jones 5 Release Date Still A No Go – But The Movie’s Coming!

While fans wait for Indiana Jones 5's release date, there's one thing to be sure of: the world's most famous archeologist will be back in theaters at some point soon, although the Indiana Jones 5 release date is yet to be made public for the press.

However, the film's cinematographer (Janusz Kaminski, who's worked with Steven Spielberg before several in projects such as Schindler's List, earning two Oscars along the way) has already confirmed in a new interview that the film would indeed be happening. While Indiana Jones 5 release date is still unknown and there have been no official announcements from Disney so far, this is the closest fans have gotten to an actual confirmation of the upcoming film.

Due to his age, it had been rumored that legendary actor Harrison Ford would not be taking the role for a fifth time, after having starred in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Temple of Doom (1984), The Last Crusade (1989) and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008). However, screenwriter and director Frank Darabont (whose most famous films are Stephen King prison drama adaptations The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, besides being the man behind zombie series The Walking Dead) denied the rumors at the time, giving no possible Indiana Jones 5 release date.

This was back in March, but things seem to be changing. Ever since Disney bought LucasFilms last year, the Mickey Mouse company has made plans for the George Lucas franchises, including three new installments of Star Wars, featuring some of the famous original cast: Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford himself and even often-copied beloved character Chewbacca will be heading back to a galaxy far, far away.

One of the newer rumors, now that the sequel seems to be confirmed, is that Harrison Ford would make his last appearance as Indy and then pass the torch to someone else - in a tactic that should copy the long-standing James Bond franchise, which has gone on for 50 years and has featured 6 different actors playing the MI6 agent: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.

As fans wait for the Indiana Jones 5 release date, it's still nice to know that the confirmed and much talked-about Star Wars Episode VII will be hitting theaters by December 18, 2015!
