New "Captain America: Civil War" rumors are out, and fans will be excited to know that they involve three characters set to appear in the superhero action film.
According to Collider, Spider-Man/Peter Parker (Tom Holland) might play a bigger role in Phase 3 of Marvel Cinematic Universe than previously thought, if recent comments from Anthony Russo about the web slinger's costume design are to be considered seriously.
Apparently, the wall-crawler is undecided whether to take Iron Man/Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) or Captain America/Steve Rogers' (Chris Evans) side in "Captain America: Civil War," and this can be seen via his costume changes in the film. One costume in particular is reportedly a product of Stark's technology, while the other one is verging on the traditional side.
Anthony Russo sat down with Super Interessante (via CBM), and revealed the details on Spider-Man's costume changes in "Captain America: Civil War".
"We did a lot of research and experimented with the looks of each character. We went through the same process with Spider-Man. We knew it was going to be someone young and it was very important to us because we wanted to give this essence to the character, because he is someone unique to the Marvel Universe," he said
"We're very happy with the final result. We're still working on a few things, like the costume. He's not ready yet because so much will be produced with special effects...The film will show a mix of what everyone is waiting for with a little twist. So yeah, that's all I can say," Russo added.
Russo reportedly indicated the armored suit Iron Spider, which provides Spider-Man with powers created by Stark Tech.
Obviously, the Iron Spider armor in "Captain America: Civil War" is the first time that the suit appears in a live-action setting, but it is expected to also reflect Spidey's inner turmoil in the film.
In other "Captain America: Civil War" news, Bruce Banner/The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) is already known to not appear in the film, but is he dead?
According to Movie Pilot, producers simply excluded the character from the film since he can defeat anyone easily if he so decides. This is obviously an unfair advantage and dangerous as well for anyone The Hulk decides to take on.
As noted by The Inquisitr, a recent statement by screenwriter Christopher Markus echoes this thought when he said,
"You put those guys in a fight, it's over quickly. It's like, 'Well, we have the Hulk on our side.' Oh, fine, then," Markus said in an Entertainment Weekly interview.
Another interesting potential "Captain America: Civil War" spoiler is the role of Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) in the Marvel movie and her relationship with the Cap. It's interesting to see her getting on Iron Man's side since she had a good relationship with Captain America from the beginning.
According to Screen Crush, Johansson will be more of a mediator in the film than someone who's taking on a side.
"I think she understands where everyone is coming from. And none of it really matters to her, you know? There's a bigger problem at hand and she's, I think, strangely, kind of the mediator," the 31-year-old actress explained.
Only time will tell whether these rumors are true when "Captain America: Civil War" hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
