After being of the most prominent film stars of the 1970s, Ali McGraw today has left her narcissistic Hollywood days behind and embraces her natural beauty after turning 75 earlier this year, on April Fool's Day.
The Love Story star became an icon after her famous role in the now-classic romance film where Ryan O'Neal co-starred. The Huffington Post reports that she told Oprah Winfrey in a recent interview that she has finally come to terms with her age. Ali McGraw today has gone past the look that made her notorious in the 1970s: her long and straight chestnut-brown locks, parted at the middle; a look that at the time was as famous as Farrah Fawcett's hair would be later in the decade... not unlike what Jennifer Aniston's "the Rachel" did in the 1990s. However, Ali McGraw today looks healthier and more in tune with her age, as she was quick to tell Oprah.
Ali McGraw today seems a different person from the days when she dated The Getaway co-star Steve McQueen, one of the most famous men in Hollywood at the time. She now lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico, after allegedly "fleeing" Malibu when her house there burned down.
Her new Santa Fe lifestyle has worked for Ali McGraw's today persona. There, she shows a much more relaxed view of life (in her 50s, the actress even became a devotee of Hatha Yoga, even producing a video with Erich Schiffmann called Ali MacGraw Yoga Mind and Body). Most importantly, her new lifestyle has changed how she sees herself away from the lights of Hollywood.
In an interview that is to air next Sunday, McGraw talks about her current life in Santa Fe, her views of growing older and how she wouldn't have been as comfortable in her own skin if she had chosen to grow older in Los Angeles. You can watch a clip of the upcoming interview here.
