The year has had plenty of innovations under its belt. From the world of the culinary arts to the technological inventions, the innovative bug has bitten and bit hard. There are plenty of foods to look forward to on a restaurant menu. However, certain recipes and foods have cut a mark above the rest and are now causing whirlwinds and taste bud cravings across the globe. Today we will look at a few of these foods. Here are out top three:
1. Popcorn
Any legitimate movie lover will tell you that a trip to the movie theater would not be complete without popcorn by your lap. The traditional American popcorn is very much basic: caramel, salted or lightly salted. However, a Taiwanese restaurant is causing ripples in Malaysia with its new flavors for the popcorn. The flavors include seaweed, kimchi, corn soup and coconut.
2. Fried Mars Bars
You heard it. The thought of it is already mouth watering.
The Mars bars are coated with "special fish and chips batter" before being deep fried. The end result is just tastefully sinful.
The delicacy is already quite popular in Britain and Australia. It is a fast selling item on the menu, especially with the women.
3. Cool cube coffee
The breakfast business is shaping up to be a fast growing very profitable market. Coffee is already America's favorite morning drink. With coffee shops sprouting at every street corner in every state, many coffee shops are turning to innovation to stay a mug ahead of the rest.
Cool cube coffee arose out of necessity.
"I noticed that many customers left their iced coffee unfinished, because they liked to sit and chill for a long time," said the creator.
By then the ice would already have melted. The drink would then be tasteless.
The drink is made by infusing ice cubes with Arabic coffee which is then served with steamed milk and poured over cubes for a beverage that is both sweet and retains its flavor.
