The big finale moment explained. Were they homosexuals? Were they secretly in love? How emotionally involved were Hannibal and Will? The kiss explained.
We may never see Hannibal and Will again as they committed themselves to the depths of the sea.
But the last lingering scene confuses viewers and maybe even the producers.
Producers Bryan Fuller and Steve Lightfoot spill their thoughts about the climactic moment between Hannibal and Will.
"This is all I ever wanted for you.. For both of us" - was the heartfelt line that professes possible love.
"During that very special moment, the actors were kind of having fun with it and got to a point for sure that they went into a loving gaze into each others eyes before they went off... and it was sort of reminiscent of the end of season two".
"It was certainly giving power to certain theories about the characters." The producers explained.
As actors are sometimes unaware of how deep they go when in character, it is no surprise that this happened. "The show got its own world and operates under its own rules but the homo-erotic tension between Will and Hannibal is crazy". It appears the producers and writers have no idea of how far they will go to capture that special moment before they fall to their deaths.
It is clear that the love beteween Hannibal and Will can be felt but its never been expressed outright during the show.
"Hannibal needed a 'murder husband' and Will enjoyed it and it was a beautiful thing", they explained. We will never know how deep their love was. But you can certainly relive it in DVD and Blu-Ray, as posted online.
