KFC Australia’s New Ad Uses Song By PETA Supporter Xavier Rudd And Everyone Understandably Hates Him Now [VIDEO]

Xavier Rudd is one of the most important singer-songwriters in Australia and a staunch supporter of causes related to animal rights, a known vegetarian and once PETA's Sexiest Australian Male Vegetarian, so fans would expect him not to support a campaign of the biggest fried chicken chain in the world - so, understandably, his new KFC Australia involvement has stirred some massive controversy.

Rudd's popular song "Let Me Be" is featured in the latest KFC Australia ad, which by law wouldn't have been used unless the star had approved of it, and since, his fans have taken to his Facebook page to express their indignation over this turn of events.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the KFC Australia ad featuring Rudd's song promotes the chain's "Home Cricket Ground" range, so it's not even like it's promoting a new line of salads - so fans of the singer and longtime animal rights activist have taken to his Facebook page and the rest of his social media accounts to express their indignation over him approving to show his music in such an ad.

As Yahoo! Australia reports, Rudd's music being featured in the KFC ad is confusing for a number of reasons, as he's been a very vocal supporter of organizations like the Pamela Anderson-endorsed PETA in the past, having stated in the past that the reason he became a vegetarian in the first place was the fact that he became horrified when visiting a factory farm in California, saying the cruel treatment of farm animals had made him reconsider his diet.

Australian website The Music has contacted the fast food chain as well as Rudd himself about the KFC ad, but neither have made any sort of comments in regards of the recent development.
