In case you thought majoring in pizza studies was dreaming much too big for the real world, now one of the biggest chains of this delicious dish has teamed up with a university in the United Kingdom to offer the unthinkable: getting a Pizza Hut degree!
Joining forces with a university in the British city of Manchester, the Yum! Brands-owned chain has announced their latest endeavor, dedicated to the education of the millions of pizza fans all over the world, as the Pizza Hut degree will give 1,500 students the chance to major in the most delicious food item of all.
According to The Telegraph, the Pizza Hut degree comes from the chain's new involvement with the Manchester Metropolitan University, as they've announced they'll be creating 1,500 apprenticeships for students for them to major in pizza, as people will be able to enroll in different levels of education.
Whoever wishes to enroll in the Manchester Metropolitan University's new program will have to apply for one of the different levels, from level one to the ultimate Pizza Hut degree.
Cosmopolitan reports that students pursuing the Pizza Hut degree will see courses in both the university and actual restaurants of the chain, with the course running for the next five years and focusing on different administration-directed endeavors such as food production and financial analysis.
"Over the next few years we will work hard to provide our apprentices and team members with the best training and development so that we can equip them with skills for life, not just for working in a restaurant," Kathryn Austin, the director of HR and marketing at the chain, told the Manchester Evening News. "I would encourage more businesses to take the lead from companies like Pizza Hut Restaurants to start or expand their apprenticeship programs."
So, if you want to be the ultimate expert in the cheesy deliciousness, you can enroll in the Pizza Hut degree starting now!
