As the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge fever has died down, some celebrities are still up for it this month, such as always-shocking Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace - who decided to do it her own way. The platinum blonde pop icon gave a twist to the ALS challenge by doing it in a jungle setting, impeccably dressed in all white ... and, of course, having very expensive-looking ice cold bucket of water thrown by two topless muscular men with gold chains hanging from their necks.

The Italian designer, has a hands-on approach to life, and doesn't waste a good opportunity to flaunt herself or her brand. A pop icon, she has appeared as herself in many films and television shows, as well as being a go-to reference in the fashion world. Her trademark looks, a very thin frame with long and bleached hair, has been imitated often (notably by Maya Rudolph in 'Saturday Night Live').

Her company, the high-fashion brand Versace, was founded by her brother Gianni and has been famous for two because for its daring outfits, most notably two dresses that have walked the red carpet: the black gown her brother designed for Elizabeth Hurley in 1994 (which she wore to the premiere of the film 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'), which was famous for having been held together only by gold safety pins; and, just as prominent, the see-through green chiffon dress worn by Jennifer Lopez at the 2000 Grammy Awards, which had David Duchovny joke that he was sure nobody was looking at him for the first time in years.

The latter gown catapulted the brand back into the mainstream after the murder of Gianni Versace.

This past week, the fashion icon has been promoting the latest collection of Versus Versace, the company's lower-cost brand, a collection that was designed by Anthony Vaccarello and saw its catwalk show this past Sunday at the New York Fashion Week.
