Sarah Hyland, a star of the hit comedy series "Modern Family," just recently split with her long-time boyfriend, Matt Prokop. The two had been a couple for five years. Hyland's rep refused to give more details about the breakup.
One source said, "Sarah's doing fine. It didn't work out. She's young. They decided they would be better off as friends."
The two stars first met in 2008. They were both auditioning for the movie "High School Musical 3: Senior Year." They did a movie together in 2011 entitled "Geek Charming."
Sources said that Hyland is "doing fine" and that the breakup was amicable. The couple decided that they are better off as friends. The two has a dog together named Barkley Bixby.
It seems that just a couple of months ago, the pair was doing okay. Prokop even supported Hyland after she was attacked in Australia back in February 2014.
Well, if the 66th Emmy Awards is any indication about Hayland's emotional status, she is indeed doing fine. She posted a photo on Instagram, where she wrote "This sums up the #emmys2014 for me." She also thanked everyone who voted for Modern Family.
Modern Family won Best Comedy Series five years in a row. The sitcom is now tied with Frasier - the previous record holder. Frasier won its fifth comedy-series in the 1998 Emmy Awards.
Hyland celebrated the big victory with her co-stars. She dances the night away while attending the Emmy after party event in Los Angeles.
