Both the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and the "Guardians of the Galaxy" have become big box office hits in recent years. As such, fans' excitement are brewing with new rumors that the two blockbuster films are going to be interconnected in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2"
According to Australia Network News, most of what is known about the "Civil War" plot is that Iron Man and Captain America will be battling against each other over the Registration Act. If there happens to be no connection between the "Avengers" and the "Guardians of the Galaxy," the site said the connection will likely be in "Civil War" or in "Avengers: Infinity War 1 & 2," according to Australia Network News.
There are two possible characters that could prove the new rumors of "The Avengers" and the "Guardians of the Galaxy" meeting.
Movie Pilot cited Thanos, while Yibada suggests The Vision will be responsible for merging the two worlds.
The Thanos theory claims that since Thanos, the powerful villain in the Avengers, has an adoptive daughter named Gamora, who appears on the Guardian's world, the two films could be linked. Gamora, who could use "emotional manipulation," will reportedly be of use to the Avengers in order to defeat Thanos if their superpowers are not enough.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn debunked the Avengers Guardians crossover rumors stating, "We have our own Galaxy to save. Earth is Avengers' province. Thinking that everything is going to come together in a perfect way is not necessarily the way it is going to happen."
However, according to the International Business Times, the Marvel Cinematic Universe storyline developing in the last few films do suggest a connection between both Marvel films.
The Yibada report claims that since the Infinity Stones is a central theme/conflict in the upcoming Marvel films which lead to the two-part Avengers: Infinity War, The Vision could be involved in linking the Avengers to the Guardians. In "Avengers: Age of Ultron," post-credits also showed Thanos getting set for war while with his Infinity Gauntlet.
The recent "Avengers," "Guardians of the Galaxy" crossover rumors also claim that as "Captain America: Civil War" ends, the Vision will have to leave Earth for the galaxy, where he could appear either in "Thor: Ragnarok" or "Guardians of the Galaxy 2."
The Vision theory is indeed probable since the character is powered by the Mind stone, another Infinity Stone, while Taneleer Tivan/The Collector, who is played by Benicio del Toro in "Guardians of the Galaxy," holds the Aether/Reality stone in his collection. Meanwhile, the Power Stone is held by the Nova Corp, while the Tesseract/Space stone remains in Asgard.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is slated for release May 5, 2017, while "Captain America: Civil War" is scheduled on May 6, 2016.
