Methods of skin lightening and brightening seem to keep getting more complicated, and yet they do not always have to. Natural skin lightening agents still abound and remain as effective and as uncomplicated to use as they were in past generations. As with all things beneficial to health and well-being: consistency is key to achieving the best results.
1. Mix lemon, milk and honey. When a teaspoon of honey, a teaspoon of milk or any milk powder and a teaspoon of lemon juice are mixed together, they create very potent skin lightener. Massaging the skin with this mixture and allowing a 15 to 20-minute period for the mixture to settle before rinsing is recommended to leave the skin soft and that much closer toward lightening.
2. Try freshly squeezed lemon juice. Using freshly squeezed lemon for skin lightening seems simple enough. With regular use of fresh lemon juice on the face or the body, the desired skin lightening and accompanying brightening may be achieved. Experienced users recommend rinsing the juice off with cold tap water and protecting the skin from the harshness of the sun with a good sunscreen. The juice acts as a natural bleach and sun exposure, especially if immediately after using the lemon rinse, may be harmful.
3. Turmeric combined with raw milk, sandalwood and besan make a very potent facial mask. A recommendation of old, one small pack of turmeric with one teaspoon of besan, two tablespoons of sandalwood powder should be mixed with raw milk to create a facial paste. The mixture should be gently massaged onto the skin and kept moist on the skin by a constant infusion of raw milk through a light massage. After around 20 minutes or less, the goo should be rinsed off completely with water.
4. A small amount of aloe vera gel or juice is not just a highly praised skin lightening agent but provides general benefits to skin health. A simple massage and rinse, when done regularly, will display visible difference.
5. Pulped, sliced or juiced: potato is a friend: When used for skin lightening, potato slices or potato paste may be applied to the skin for 20 minutes and rinsed off with water.
