Fun Family Activities You Can Do At Home This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day is best spent with families and friends so make the best out of it. So this coming 26th make sure you have come up with a list of what to do at home to make your "staycation" more fun and memorable.

Make a good dinner with your loved ones, even the kids.

Cooking, baking, and even preparing meals with the family can be so much fun. This activity captures spontaneity, intimacy, and fun of home cooking while also inspiring everyone to look forward to the next family cooking session. Involving the kids not only makes them interested in trying healthy food but most importantly, teach them the values of belongingness, responsibility, and self-reliance.

Work on seasonal arts and crafts with the family.

The Family Education site suggests that you and your loved ones find time to do this activity: Leaves of Gratitude. This fun seasonal craft idea lets everyone make a homemade family gratitude tree. All you have to do is head out to the backyard with your little ones and find the perfect branch for your own gratitude tree. On a piece of paper, write down your messages of gratitude - learning how to appreciate life's blessings for this year. Hang it on the branches, making each paper leaf as colorful and as creative as possible. Let the kids color, draw and paint.

Have an exciting movie marathon.

Watching movies with families and friends is a good leisure activity. You can never go wrong with movies of different genres, from suspense, action, comedy, cartoon, to romance. Just ready the chips, popcorn, sodas and of course, some healthy snacks, too.

Play and laugh with the kids.

Having some indoor games, activities and surprises on holidays makes a child "paint his childhood with colorful and wonderful memories". These may be some of the best things he or she could treasure forever. Nothing compares to a happy child. Let them suggest things that they want to do with you and you'd be amazed as to how creative these precious ones could be.

Happy thanksgiving day, folks! Have a blast!
