‘Downton Abbey’ Finale: Lily James’ Cousin Lady Rose Returning For Series Finale Of Beloved Period Drama

At the end of the past season, 26 year-old actress Lily James left the show that put her on the spotlight, "Downton Abbey," to pursue other career projects like this year's live-action version of Disney's "Cinderella" - now, as the "Downton Abbey" finale approaches, she's revealed she'll be coming back for the last episode!

James' character, Lady Rose, lived with her cousins, the Crawleys, for the better part of the fourth and fifth seasons of the show, only to leave after marrying and moving to the United States at the end of the past season, only to return for the "Downton Abbey" finale set to premiere next Christmas in the UK.

According to Irish RTE, the actress recently gushed to Harper's Bazaar about going back on set for the "Downton Abbey" finale, as her character came back to England after moving to New York with her new husband.

"It was amazing going back after a break. You are just totally re-inspired by the wonder of it, that grand house against grey skies and all the friends you haven't seen in so long," said James, confirming the presence of Lady Rose for the "Downton Abbey" finale. "I have such happy, positive memories and a sense of accomplishment about being on the show. I don't know if I'd be sitting here if it weren't for Downton. It would have all been very different."

As International Business Times reports, James has spoken time and again about how grateful she is to have been part of the "Downton" phenomenon, also sharing that she left the show hoping to return one day, before it'd been announced that the "Downton Abbey" finale was approaching.

According to The Daily Mail, there have been persisting rumors that her character could be pregnant, after she sent a letter earlier in the season that could have revealed the happy news - will the "Downton Abbey" finale also bring a new baby for the Crawleys?
