Which Vegan Food is Best Paired with Certain Types of Wine?

Vegetarians or Vegans, these are the terms used for people who only eat vegetables. However, just like the meat lovers, they are also looking for the best wine to go with their fruits and vegetables.

According to the Globe and Mail, looking for vegan food to match wine is a broad question that may have a lot of answers and opinions as well.

One vegan made some awesome suggestions to answer this question. He said that you can have a variety of light salad with curries, meatless meat loaf and he suggested to try Gwyneth Paltrow's Kale and Butternut-squash lasagna. He said that wine works best for any kind of food depending on a person's taste buds.

When we try to explore the leanness of most vegan dishes, we also need to consider the type of wine that they can enjoy. For example, the ever elegant pinot noir, gamay or cabernet franc, these 3 brands can help every vegan explore which food would suit best for them. Another would be Chianti which works well with dishes that are heavily based in tomato sauce because they have a tangy salty edge taste. For Chardonnay, it is safe to pair it with anything creamy like risotto with butter or cheese.

For Vegans who enjoy the company of stir-fried food or heavy curries, they can pair it with white wines that have a great aroma like riesling and gewürztraminer, specialties of France's Alsace region as well as of Niagara and British Columbia or the viognier, can be best paired with Indian curries of all sorts. For deep-fried or battered vegetables, sparkling wine or crisp white wine would be the best choice. Lastly, some vegetarians include cheese in their diet, then they can choose gewürztraminer, riesling, pinot gris as their best choice.
