'Jennifer Lawrence' on 'Katniss Everdeen': ‘It's Kind of Like Your Avatar Self’

Jennifer Lawrence has talked about her "The Hunger Games" alter ego Katniss Everdeen at a handprint ceremony on Saturday at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Calif.

"I'm very grateful," the Oscar-winning star said. "I feel the impact of being part of such a huge movie that has meant so much for many people. This character is overwhelmingly supportive of women, obviously, and this iconic [role], I don't feel a personal impact, I think if you ever become aware of that it takes away from that a little bit, it's the movie, and the characters... it's kind of like your avatar self."

JLaw, chaperoned by her "Mockingjay" costars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, also opened up to the media about her final moments as Katniss and how special the role for her as the actress who portrayed the role. The 25-year-old actress also reflected on both her own clan and her movie family.

"I feel that I had two endings with Katniss," JLaw revealed. "One when we wrapped the film in Berlin and that was kind of saying goodbye to the movie and then I had a moment with my nephews about a year later. They played my children in the scene that we shot so it was an amazing closure to this character that I've loved for so many years to have my family there, my blood family, I got to say goodbye to both."

Meanwhile, Josh mentioned on how much he loves his fans and movie family. "You guys supported us before the first movie, so thank you for that," the 22-year-old actor told the crowd.

Liam, on the other hand, also remarked on his love for his film family. "I love you both so much and let's just be friends forever," the 25-year-old ex-fiancé of Miley Cyrus told his costars.

"Mockingjay -- Part 2" is set to hit, and perhaps break records, theaters on Nov. 20. It is the second part of two films based on the last novel in the "The Hunger Games" trilogy.
