It was Deadline that first reported the Selena Gomez Netflix series, saying that the site and production company had given a straight-to-series order for an adaptation to the New York Times bestseller "13 Reasons Why" by Jay Asher.
Interestingly enough, Justin Bieber's ex won't only star in the upcoming series, she'll also serve as its executive producer in a project that involves Anonymous Content and Paramount TV - in all, Selena Gomez's Netflix show definitely a big endeavor, but surely she can make it!
Refinery29 reports that this new Selena Gomez Netflix series will see her starring as Hannah Baker, a high school student who, ahead of committing suicide, sends her crush a box of tapes enumerating the 13 reasons she killed herself, as the tapes are passed to other students due to her instructions.
According to E! Online, this would be the first time Gomez is part of a television show in two years, as her last appearance on the medium was a comeback to the show that made her a superstar, as she starred in the 2013 Disney Channel film "The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex."
