The trailer for the highly-anticipated sci-fi film "Jupiter Ascending" from Andy and Lana Wachowski, the makers of "The Matrix" trilogy has finally been released.
Channing Tatum, who sports a goatee and pointed ears, plays hunting machine and warrior, Caine, whose mission is to find and protect Mila Kunis' character, Jupiter Jones, once word spreads about her perfect genes.
"[Her] "genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos," according to the futuristic film's official description.
The trailer begins with Caine bursting into a medical facility and saving Jupiter from being put to death. The film focuses on the relationship that grows between Caine and Jupiter. In the film, humans are depicted as the lowest form of evolution in the universe.
"It can be difficult for people from underdeveloped worlds to hear that their planet is not the only inhabited planet," Caine said in the film.
In an interview with MTV, Tatum admitted that the movie was one of the most challenging he's filmed yet.
"It's crazy - it's a tough movie," the actor said. "We're trying to do stuff that's never been done before, in three different aspects. We're trying to do stuff that's never been done in CG before, we're doing stuff with cameras that's never been done before, and we're trying to do stuff with stunts -- like, actual, real stuff so we don't have to use a bunch of CGI stuff."
The movie also stars Sean Bean, who plays Stinger, Caine's mentor, and Eddie Redmayne. "Jupiter Ascending" is scheduled for release on July 25, 2014, in both 2-D and 3-D.
